Description
Wild oily fish, such as herring, sardines or mackerel, are a very good source of valuable unsaturated fatty acids Omega-3 EPA and DHA as well as vitamin D. Lean fish, on the other hand (kibbeling, fish sticks, tilapia and pangasius) hardly contain these important nutrients. Pure Arctic MSC Fish Oil with Vitamin D is for anyone who has difficulty eating fatty fish. The daily dose (2.5 ml) (one dessert or teaspoonful) of Pure Arctic Fish Oil contains the Omega-3 fats of (converted) about one whole herring. It is scientifically proven that this amount of EPA and DHA is good for the heart**, good for your eyesight* (helps to stay sharp) and good for brain function*. The beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 250 mg of DHA* or 250 mg of EPA/DHA**. These are legally approved health claims. As much as 20% of the fat in our brains is Omega-3 DHA; it is an important building block for brains (as calcium is for bones). The vitamin D in fish oil is important for maintaining strong bones and strong teeth. Vitamin D helps ensure a good resistance and plays a role in maintaining strong muscles. It has been scientifically proven that EPA and DHA are also good for blood pressure1 and triglycerides2 (blood fats) levels. The beneficial effect is obtained at a daily intake of 3000mg1 and 2000mg2 EPA/DHA. The daily intake of EPA and DHA should then not exceed 5000mg.
Important information
Omega-3 fats are among our essential nutrients. That means, as with most vitamins, you need to get them through diet. Since many people don't like the real fatty fish (herring, mackerel, sardines), an Omega-3 supplement such as fish oil or algae oil is helpful.
Omega-3 fatty acids are among the nutrients that have been best researched. Thousands of studies have been done on the importance of these good fats for our health. Hence, the European government has also made official health claims that articulate the effect of Omega-3 fats on the body.
Ideally, the oil should be used with other fats in a meal. E.g. stirred into cottage cheese for breakfast. Pure from the spoon can also, preferably after a meal.

True. Pollock is a lean fish. However, the oil is extracted from the fillet trimmings with the liver in it as well. For centuries, pollock liver has been known as a perfect source of Omega-3. Because the oil is purified in the most modern fish oil factory in America, you can say that this oil is even several times purer than mackerel, herring and salmon (while these are already very healthy fish). Another advantage of using pollock is that the oil is fresher than from other types of fish.
Absolute. Children from 1 to 6 years of age: one 1/4 (quarter) measuring spoon (2.5 ml) daily (or one ½ (half) measuring spoon (2.5 ml) every other day).

Absolutely. As little as 250 mg of DHA intake by the mother, it contributes to proper eye development and is good for brain function development in the fetus and breastfed infants. 1 teaspoon (half a measuring spoon) contains 500 mg of DHA is thus ideal for bringing DHA status to desired levels.

The freshness of this oil and its high content of EPA and DHA are the reasons why Pure Arctic Fish Oil is well suited to increase the Omega-3 Index and improve an upset Omega-6/Omega-3 fatty acid balance.
