Product MSC Fish Oil

  • Why should I take Arctic Blue?

Softgels are smaller and without after-taste like some other brands have. The fish oil we use is probably the freshest in the world, as it is produced within 1 day (in the Polar Circle in Norway). In any case, Arctic Blue MSC is the most sustainable fish oil available. We know exactly where the oil comes from, as we know the fishermen in person.

  • Why is Arctic Blue a natural fish oil and not a concentrated form of fish oil?

We find the production of concentrated fish oil an enormous waste of resources. 1) The concentration process is very inefficient, which results in the need of huge amounts of fish. 2) Brands that sell concentrated oil, all use whole anchovy and sardines. In our view we think that whole fishes should be used be used for human consumption or stay in the food chain of natural predators (sea birds, whales, dolphins, sea lions, etc).

Sustainability

  • Why is Arctic Blue MSC fish oil the most sustainable fish oil?

It’s the only fish oil in the world, that has the MSC certificate for sustainable fisheries and is 100% climate neutral: our operations don’t have any negative impact on the climate. See ambassador Reinier van den Berg.

Thirdly, Arctic Blue only utilises fish for fish oil, after removal of the filet meat for human consumption. Most other brands use whole fishes, that in our view should be used be for human consumption or stay in the food chain of natural predators (tuna, whales, dolphins, sea lions, etc). Last but not least, the pouch packaging requires 90% less recyclable plastic than the common jars.

Product vegetarian / vegan algal oil

  • What’s so special about Arctic Blue algal oil?

This is a 100% vegetable Omega-3 supplement, meant for vegetarians, vegans and perfect for Mums to be and during breast feeding. The capsules are small and easy to swallow. As they are made with fresh algal oil, there is no (belching of) fishy after-taste. The Vegan Society has awarded Arctic Blue with the certificate for a 100% Vegan product, because the capsule hull isn’t made from gelatine but from seaweed extract.

  • Is Arctic Blue Vegan suitable for pregnant or breast feeding women?

Arctic Blue Vegan is perfect for Mums to be and during breast feeding. Particularly in this special period, you want to avoid the potential pollutants that can be found in wild fish. Our Omega-3 DHA comes from algae that are cultivated in a pharmaceutical facility. This guarantees zero contamination and the confidence that you and the baby will get the benefits of Omega-3 DHA without any concerns about the safety. Another advantage is the lack of any fishy after-taste / belching. Read HERE more about daily dosage.

  • Is Arctic Blue Vegan algal oil 100% vegetable?

Yes, and therefore suitable for vegetarians and vegans.

  • Is Arctic Blue vegan algal oil free from potential allergens?

Yes, it does not contain any fish (substances) or any other potential allergens.

Product organic salmon oil

  • What’s so special about organic salmon oil?

The organic certification 100% ensures that salmon haven’t been confronted with potential pollutants.

  • Why is organic salmon oil also a very sustainable fish oil?

Most other brands use whole fishes like anchovy and sardines, that in our view should be used be for human consumption or stay in the food chain of natural predators (tuna, whales, dolphins, sea lions, etc). Organic salmon oil is produced from salmon, after removal of the filet meat for human consumption. The product is 100% climate neutral: the operation does not have any negative impact on the climate.

  • Is the whole softgel organic?

More than 95% of the softgel is organic. Besides the salmon oil, the fish gelatine of the softgel hull is also from an organic source.

Health

  • Why not just eating fish instead of taking a fish oil supplement?

See HERE.

  • What exactly are the Omega-3 fatty acids health benefits?

See HERE.

  • Why don’t you sell any vitamins or minerals?

Apart from some exceptions, vitamin deficiencies are rather scarce (compared to Omega-3 deficiencies). We prefer to promote healthy and varied diet. As the consumption of fatty fish is so low (due to several reasons), and because of the extraordinary health benefit, we do promote taking fish oil next to a varied and balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle. Furthermore, there is a growing evidence that Omega-3 can play an important role in preventing and soften chronic and lifestyle diseases.
