Algae are mini-plants that can make their own Omega-3 fatty acids in water. In nature, algae pass these on to "fatty" fish such as herring and sardine when eaten. This gives algae oil the power of fish oil. Because we make algae oil capsules from cultivated algae in a controlled environment, we can also be sure that there can be no contaminants from the ocean in them. The capsule shell is also plant-based because the gelatin has been replaced with seaweed, among other things.

Omega-3 fats are among our essential nutrients. That means, as with most vitamins, you need to get them through diet. Since many people don't like the real fatty fish (herring, mackerel, sardines), an Omega-3 supplement such as fish oil or algae oil is helpful.
Omega-3 fatty acids are among the nutrients that have been best researched. Thousands of studies have been done on the importance of these good fats for our health. Hence, the European government has also made official health claims that articulate the effect of Omega-3 fats on the body.
Ideally, the capsule should be taken just before or just after a meal.
Schizochytrium sp. algal oil, glycerol, modified starch, carrageenan (seaweed extract), high oleic acid sunflower oil, disodium phosphate, water, natural rosemary extract, antioxidant (tocopherols, ascorbyl palmitate).
The vitamin E-containing natural antioxidant protects sensitive Omega-3 fatty acids.
Schizochytrium sp. is the name of the algae species. We are required by law to list it.
Glycerol is a thickener that forms the capsule shell together with starch (see frequently asked questions) and carrageenan. Together 25% of the whole capsule.
Dinatriumfosfaat is in voeding een standaard zuurteregelaar die in minuscule hoeveelheid (<3 mg) mede zorgt voor stevigheid van de capsule.
The capsule is free of artificial flavors and free of preservatives, colors or sweeteners.
Recommended use: 1 capsule per day.
For greater requirements, it is safe, for adults, to take up to 6 capsules per day.
Do not take algae oil capsules on an empty stomach, but right before or right after a meal.

No, this product is 100% plant-based/vegan.

60 capsules for 60 days.
1 capsule contains 250 mg of DHA.
Yes indeed, already in in liquid (algae) form and soon as capsules.
Yes, people with specific needs may be advised a higher intake by doctor or therapist. However, make sure it does not exceed the daily maximum of 5,000 mg EPA+DHA.
Best after a meal that includes fats. The Omega-3 mixes into this and is then optimally absorbed.
If children can swallow a capsule, it is certainly appropriate. Children 3 years and older no more than 4 per day. Children between 1 and 3 years old possibly cut open max. 1 capsule and stir through food. Or you can use the liquid algae oil consider for use in e.g. yogurt.
Absolute. As early as 250 mg of DHA (1 capsule) intake by the mother, it contributes to proper eye development and is good for the development of brain function in the fetus and breastfed infants. Multiple capsules per day is possible. However, do not exceed the daily maximum of 5,000 mg EPA+DHA
Vegan means no firm animal gelatin as capsule shell. Corn starch used for this, among other things. Modified starch means that it has extra branching and therefore becomes stronger. Together with glycerol and carrageenan (seaweed extract) this makes the shell. So modified has nothing to do with genetically modified (which we would never use). Since linoleic acid is not active, but must first be converted into ARA (arachidonic acid), which does not happen 1:1, the ratio falls even more strongly in favor of Omega-3.
Each algae oil capsule (any brand) contains a very small amount of sunflower oil. This is because the algae make varying amounts of DHA. In order for each capsule to contain at least 250 mg of DHA, it is corrected with sunflower oil. However, the amount of Omega-6 in sunflower oil is minimal: Each capsule, on 466 mg of algae oil (containing 250 mg of Omega-3 DHA), also contains 34 mg of sunflower oil of which 20 mg are Omega-3 linoleic acid. So that's 12 times less than the 250 mg of Omega-3.
