Algae oil is the fish-free version of fish oil. Algae are the only plants that contain the same Omega-3 fatty acids as fatty fish. This also means that these unsaturated fats are just as susceptible to oxidation as in fish oil. So when algae oil is old or less fresh, it can start to smell. Our algae oil goes into the bottle in good condition and is also protected by the natural antioxidants of freshly pressed flaxseed oil (which itself contains plant Omega-3 fatty acids). Nature is doing its job....

Omega-3 fats are among our essential nutrients. That means, as with most vitamins, you need to get them through diet. Since many people don't like the real fatty fish (herring, mackerel, sardines), an Omega-3 supplement such as fish oil or algae oil is helpful.
Omega-3 fatty acids are among the nutrients that have been best researched. Thousands of studies have been done on the importance of these good fats for our health. Hence, the European government has also made official health claims that articulate the effect of Omega-3 fats on the body.
Ideally, the oil should be used with other fats in a meal. E.g. stirred into cottage cheese for breakfast. So pure from the spoon can also be used when you have eaten.
Ingredients: flaxseed oil and algae oil (Schizochytrium sp. algae oil, high oleic acid sunflower oil, rosemary extract, antioxidant (natural tocopherols, ascorbyl palmitate)). Algae oil is made from cultured (cultivated) microalgae in a closed system without environmental influences from outside. Such a fermentation process is similar to how yogurt (using bacteria) and beer (using yeasts) are made Next, the oil is naturally extracted from the algae and antioxidant is added to protect the oil. A very small amount of sunflower oil serves to keep the amount of Omega-3 DHA constant (as it fluctuates a bit with the natural algae). The flaxseed oil is cold-pressed and not refined (as usual) so the sensitive Omega-3 fatty acids are not damaged by high temperatures. This is also why the oil retains its natural spicy flavor and why it can be stored in the refrigerator much longer (than standard industrial oil). The flaxseed oil is also not filtered but decanted. This is the pouring over of the oil to separate the indigestible husks from the oil. This leaves the oil cloudy: a sign of the presence of a variety of rich nutrients such as tocopherols, cartenoids and lignans.

Absolutely. Because of the high amount of EPA and DHA, 1 teaspoon (2.5 ml), i.e., half a measuring spoon is suitable for children ages 3 and up.
Absolutely. From as little as 250 mg of DHA (half a measuring spoon) intake by the mother, it contributes to proper eye development and is good for the development of brain function in the fetus and breastfed infants. 1 teaspoon contains 800 mg of DHA is thus ideal for bringing DHA status to desired levels.
